Not trying to start rumors...but the Tennessee message boards are lighting up with rumors that Patterson is listening to Arkansas and may leave TCU. Many posters are also saying they'd love to have him here at Rocky Top. I don't see him leaving TCU given all that's going on there with the Big 12 and the refurbished stadium.

TCU cannot outbid half of the SEC teams including Arkansas.

TCU has several large donors that will throw money if needed. It's about more than money to Patterson though - that has been proven multiple times.

Friend told me that an alum at TCU tied in Patterson on a bunch of oil/gas royalties that aren't part of his university salary there. He might have a lot of reasons to stay that aren't out there.

You never know, maybe he's got enough money now to where he can make a move to somewhere he has a chance of winning. TCU won't be that place in the Bevo 10.

Not sure if UT will get him. Our sorry arse chancellor will not allow us to spend big money on a coach because he is more concerned with turning us into a Top 25 research university. Why is that important? Because it would be published in US News and World Report, that's why.
BTW, who the ****in he-l-l reads US News and World Report anyway?

I don't see Patterson leaving TCU. Seems like his name has been mentioned around several coaching searches, at better jobs than TCU, and yet he is still there.

If he is going to leave, now is time to do so.

I think he may leave quickly. He will start racking up losses now that he is in a BCS conference, and his stock may fall. Now may be his best chance for a bigger payday Fran style.

Patterson made a comment yesterday that was picked up in the Dallas paper today.... it was in a story regarding the number of wins by the visiting teams this year in the Formerly Big 12. Patterson said that the kids get more "jazzed up" when they're playing in front of 80-90K fans, and the atmosphere that generates.

He's been back-handedly critical of the gameday atmosphere inside the dandy new Amon G Carter Stadium on other occasions this season. He may decide, at some point, that he simply wants a bigger stage and the recruiting positives that come with it. My frog friends tell me that there weren't near 47K people at the game yesterday even though that was the announced attendance, and that it was pretty quiet. Stadium started emptying out by the end of the 3rd qtr.

WOW @ the vol up above...God forbid your school strives to become a top 25 research university! That surely can be nothing but bad!

Patterson is sweetly set at TCU. Lot's of money both on and off the field. Wife is from Fort Worth. Turned down his alma mater, K-State. No one will out bid TCU for him. There is a lot of willing alumni money here. His reasons to leave would have to be for a coaching challege, but I doubt he would be any more successful at UT than at TCU. As we are seeing, playing big boy all is a lot harder than playing in the WAC. He has done great things for TCU, but let's see what his record is in 3-4 years.

I hope he comes over. Very easy for Sumlin to recruit against Gary.
