Why does AI seem to really be artificially stupid?

This is... weird...

And why is someone throwing up a "hook 'em" in the crowd on the first pic? Nuances like this are why AI can never replace the human component.

I asked AI to create a poem about winning the championship...

The Aggies took the field with might,
Under the stadium lights so bright.
Baseball in hand, they were ready to win,

A championship dream within their sight,

They swung for the fences, no time to think,

For some reason AI graphic tools are horrible at putting text into the image and spelling. I don't get it but it's a thing. I made a logo for a 4H robotics group and besides refining overall prompt, it took a lot of goofing around to get one with good copy. A person with better graphic design skills can probably take a very good image from AI and fix the text but I can't.
