Sorry late to the party. Didn't Schloss take Earley with him to tu? If so, Earley apparently interviewed for our job. Has Schloss not fired him yet? Seems like the way Mr Rat would respond.

Coach Mother ****er is a petty, thin-skinned loser. I'd be surprised if Earley still had a job at tu.

I wonder if Earley is holding things up. Maybe Trev is telling other candidates he wants them to hire Earley and they don't like not being able to control their staff decisions? If I were a premiere coach that would definitely be an issue for me. It's nothing against Earley, more about what kind of situation I'm getting into if the AD is over reaching to make decisions for me.

(2) Earley is well respected. If a coach doesn't see the rationale in keeping Jace, Gavin, Sorrell and the only think he had to do is retain a well respected coach, then I'm not sure he's the guy.
(3) I think this may be complicated by trying to decide if Earley is ready now. And is he's not, how do you manage that situation. Is it a HC in waiting, which is typically awkward, or is it a long term HC with Earley knowing he may have to go elsewhere to be a HC in a few years.
Oh, and combine that will all the other discussions a coach would be having with their current staff, administration, players, etc and this takes time.
The only way it doesn't take time is if you don't value the relationships you currently have in place and you're willing to **** all over them and your own reputation.

Vaughn with Earley makes sense bc of them playing minor league ball together. Vaughn should have no issue with it plus the bonus of keeping our players. Seems almost like a slam dunk.

It's public knowledge that he interviewed with us. Do you think there is any way that POS retains him?
My guess- trying to figure out a coaching staff with Earley as HC or with Earley as Associate HC. If Earley is HC I think they want to know who he can get as a part of his staff because hiring Earley is a bit risky. He would need a top notch recruiting coordinator and you would want an idea of who he could get as pitching coach.
If you don't have faith Earley can do that then you shouldn't be hiring him as HC to begin with.85AustinAg said:

How do I say this nicely. There are MANY A&M baseball fans aside from the ten or so that post on this board constantly that think they know it all. Giving someone like Michael Earley his first head coaching job at an SEC powerhouse that just played for a National championship is not going to set well with the large majority of the fan base outside of TexAgs. Trev Albert's knows that. This board apparently does not. So no, he won't be the head coach here. Great assistant, but not a head coach.
