I don't think the sips will care about 1 assistant coach leaving.
The longer this announcement takes the more crazy ideas some are going to dream up.
The announcement will be perfectly timed as soon as Pitbull hits the stage!!
In a perfect world - we get Early back as head assistant, announce a splash hire as seen by all relevant people and outlets, and use evidence to shed light on anything that happened deemed unethical and illegal...just before their official entrance. It would be a huge middle finger to the sips and castration to Sankey.
Not a chance. They are not going to leave guys in the portal one minute longer than they have to. Not to mention, we need to be working the portal. If it's E or someone else plus E, bringing E home to S' detriment is just icing.

I think the longer it takes the more I can believe it just might possibly be vitello or some other very big name. i mean this was a huge kick in the nads we took. i wouldn't be shocked if we threw a record breaking contract at whoever we wanted because if you think we lolpoors are mad, think about the guys with the money that really run our show. those guys don't like being outdone.

Could you imagine Looch breaking A&M hired Vitello while Schloss is on the podium. And as a bonus, Micheal Earley will be leaving Texas to assume the associate head coach roll….
I don't know the mechanics but what would be awesome would be announcing new coach, Earley returning and basically the entire team is returning tomorrow.

Human nature is funny, and I am just speaking of myself here, but last week I was calling Vitello a dbag. Now if by some crazy stretch we got him, I would be talking about how awesome it is that we got him! lol. but I was also saying last week what an awesome coach Schloss is, and now I'm saying he is a snake. Such is life! all is well with people until it isn't…
An announcement that we had been able to hold on to one of the assistant coaches would not phase them at all.

I've gained a new perspective on Vitello that makes him somewhat tolerable, given the effusive praise from his players. Spoke to a few fans in Omaha about him, and they claim he's toned it down. Said he "had to do some of that in the beginning in order to establish himself". Maybe so, but might son called him a peacock when he strutted out of the dugout during game two to complain about something. Thought that moniker fit him to a T! It's all an act as far as I'm concerned and I don't want that for our team.
But knowing the kind of men that have preceded JS, it goes without saying we he broke the mold, and it reflects badly upon us that we gave him a platform to abuse those he most surely did! It appears we owe our AD a debt of gratitude for relieving us of him, and we owe it to his victims here to expose whatever wrongs he may have perpetrated in the conduct of his job. Let the chips fall where they may.

To me it's one of two scenarios and both involve Earley.
1. Earley is hired as HC. Contingent on this though is making sure he is hiring a top notch recruiting coordinator and pitching coach. Trying to get things lined up with at least some of the assistants before announcing
2. OR Earley is going to be the Associate HC and they are trying to nail down the HC. And making sure the HC is ok with Earley as his second in command. Who is left as a HC, Vaughn?

Fair enough. I was simply following up on the "hot potato" reference by a previous post which I found somewhat apropos, given that it appears Trev has been "on top" of this situation for some time now. It's not a certainty yet, but it's sure beginning to look that way. We'll know details soon enough.
Honestly, I believe Vitello is out of the picture. It just doesn't make sense for an incumbent championship-winning coach to up and leave a program the very next season. Has that ever happened in any significant college sport?
Can't imagine he's even a target, for more reasons than one.
