If Earley is the guy why not let him assemble a young, hungry staff and then bring in Pierce in an advisory type role to help guide Earley through his first time as a head coach? I feel like Pierce would be motivated to help Earley be successful.

Even though in theory it would be good, you don't want anything that has been infected with that tu Austin cancer. Damaged goods. Keep all tu exes far away from the program.
Emory Bellard was the real deal, from another era! Next to Jackie, the best coach to walk the sidelines of Kyle Field! Left alone, he very likely would have won and/or played for multiple MNCs! But that's for another day/thread...SA-AG72 said:FtBendTxAg said:

You realize the irony that you only don't want a highly qualified pitching coach BECAUSE he coached at Texas...? So who is the one with the obsession?Steph 92 said:NuclearAggie05 said:

Stop! Some of you do have an obsession with the horns. Why in the hell would we want to do this?
see, if true, THAT is a viable reason. But where you used to Coach is not. Let's have the reason be tangible, not emotional.12thMan9 said:
Pierce is a POS, end of discussion.

We need a coach who doesn't need someone to guide and help him because he has zero experience as a head coach. Good lord.NuclearAggie05 said:

I'd rather take a chance on an "unproven" coach I had supreme confidence in and trusted based upon his prior performance than settle for a coach with experience that failed to inspire me with that same experience. I think that might be where our AD could end up, given the availability of experienced HCes.texag101 said:We need a coach who doesn't need someone to guide and help him because he has zero experience as a head coach. Better would be to rehire a Director of baseball ops that is a position that Trev terminated under Schloss.
It is is Earley we MUST give him more administrative and operations support so he can focus on doing what he does.
..recruit, coach and develop players.
Director of Baseball Operations is not a position that was eliminated.Quote:
