It looks like we may be getting him from Washington to be AHC. He was at ASU with earley and on paper seems to be a perfect fit.

The one concern I have is that between him and Mike elko, the slocum nutrition center will be taxed to its limits. Do we have the funds to supplement chef staff?

So would assume he's the pitching coach as well. Not being dialed into that area, how is he as a developer of arms?

Did he leave LSU as the pitching coach to be the head coach there? Why would he step down just a few years later?

I saw in his bio that he started off as a pitching coach at Cal Poly I think.

Chef Tai Lee has already said he feeds the teams their before and after game meals, and that he is happy yo do more.

He also said he had free egg toast for any players who commit to staying

and our AHC makes more than their HC position pays, and cost of living, access to talent and they went 19-31 this year. Might be easier to earn your way to a Southern job as our AHC than as a bottom tier BIG coach.

I guess he wanted to be a HC. In addition, Wash State was left without a seat when the merry go round stopped during conference realignment. They will be a mid major D1 in baseball.


*Edit - the Big 10 doesn't even take baseball seriously. Sorry about that. It's going to be one of those days where my screen time explodes...

The Big 10 does do baseball. They just have to go on the road for all their games until April.

INF Cam Clayton is a nice right handed bat and good fielder. Led the team in walks and held a respectable stat line of .271/.378/.440
He hit .325 with 11 homers in '23 but might have regressed due to a lack of talent around him

His staff certainly wasn't elite at Washington, but that's probably a hard place to win. Anyone have insight into his results elsewhere? We need an elite pitching coach.

His experience could be good for our new coach. Hopefully we hire a pitching coach though. This guy can be more of the overlord. I also, at a minimum, want labs and analytics cause it sounds cool and all science-y and sh*t. Sounds like we will have that. Plus, the tech stuff Max left.

There is another thread showing the numbers for his teams as pitching coach. PC at Washington, then Arizona St, one season at LSU in 2022 (the numbers were solid here) and then head coach at Washington.
