"When Chris [Del Conte] and I had discussions about this, I was very clear that this had to be a team effort," Schlossnagle said. "I've been on some awesome coaching staffs, winning coach staffs, and championship coaching staffs, but I've never been around a group of guys who are more tied together, synergy, knowledge of the game, work ethic than the staff that we had at A&M.

"We are a united front as a staff, and I hope to bring a few more guys," Schlossnagle said. "I have plenty of energy, but I did not want to go through that process [of hiring a staff], and we don't have time to go through that process. We need players. We need to keep the returning players, hold some guys in the draft, and we have to get on the phone this afternoon and rebuild this roster, because the SEC is looming, so I needed my guys with me."

The stories about Cain and/or Weiner being part of the coup very early, if true, are painful.

But honestly Cain is amazing. I would ignore the choice to wear Orange if he came back.

Mosr importantly, he is an insanely good coach and recruiter....all the boxes check. And better? It ROYALLY would screw Schloss.

So I would rather punish sips than try to punish the assts who were put in very difficult positions.

If Earley wants him, I hope we pay whatever it takes to get him. We've got 3 million tu bucks to play with, and I've got to think we got Earley cheaper than what we were paying schLoss. The fact that it further weakens tu's staff would be a nice perk as well.

There was rumor that he was going to SOuth Carolina with PM. So, they may have planned to head that way after Omaha then schloss offered up more money, and he went to tu. I doubt he comes back.

at this point I'd rather have longley , he seems great and I don't think there is room for both. Could be wrong

Don't they play a similar role? I know Longley would be hitting coach, I was under the impression he would also be recruiting coordinator. Cain wouldn't leave Texas if he wasn't AHC under Earley. I guess Longley could just be hitting coach and Cain as RC and AHC would work.

Am I incorrect in saying Longley would be hitting coach AND Recruiting Coordinator? Honest question because I don't know if those two positions can even be held by one person.

I can get on board with that. Just make sure Cain is getting more at A&M then he is at Texas and he is back.

I also do not think Cain is a snake like weiner or SchLoss.

Schotts tweet is very telling that the players still like him. So bring 'em back

"We are a united front as a staff, …". A front is a facade. It's a fake … a much nicer presentation of that which you might find beneath the surface. Schloss may have spoken true words … for once. Maybe it WAS a front but it certainly wasn't united.
