Yeah it's always good to let players choose the coach.

Ultimately he is in charge and needed to know for himself if Earley was ready to take over this program, and would be a great fit in this role.

I get what you are saying but honestly but this is a very unique situation where we are loaded with talent so I think it is different.

Also, generally speaking, I am wondering if the days of the "old ball coach" in college ball is done. With NIL$, some of the old ways are just not going to work anymore. I think Saban saw the writing on the wall. It is a different world now. Sounds like POS is in mold of an Augie.... let's see how that plays out in this new world.

I also say kudos to him if we knew/suspected dingle was looking ant tu and called him out around time of regionals or whenever dingle claims. This is the attitude so many ags want us to have. Hey, if you don't want to be here don't let the door hit ya.

If you've ever had a job where your boss quit or was fired, I bet you wanted to have a say in who the next boss was going to be. If everyone likes the guy, then it sounds like a slam dunk to me.

You shouldn't hire a coach just because the players want them. Yiu should hire them if they're legitimately a good candidate, and Earley seems to be a good candidate. Had the Ags hired Eli Robinson I would've felt the same, Robinson legit seems like a head coach in the making.

Keeping a team that was a few outs shy of a natty together seems like a pretty good reason to prioritize what the players want.

Kudos to him performing a thorough interviewing process talking with several candidates. And yes good for him to involve the players in this process.

The way everything went down kind of required this bc we just played for the title. Good job for Trev understanding that one.

I just don't think the current players should have anything to do with it. They may not stay and even if they do they're not going to be around long. The program is far bigger than the current players.

It's interesting you now think POS isn't a good modern day coach. He's the most successful baseball coach we've ever had.

I hope Earley does well. It's just hard for me to believe someone who's never been a head coach is the best Texas A&M can do. Spare me the ridiculous Dabo analogy. You don't make enormous decisions based on extreme exceptions.

I bet Tennessee is glad they didn't think like that.

I saw a drunk guy in Vegas hit a 20 while playing blackjack. He drew an ace. He was glad he did it.
