I just posted this on the Transfer Portal thread but thought it would be easier to find with its own post. Apologies if that upsets some. Looks like some players in the portal from UDub that are very intriguing.

Yes, hope we're making him a priority. He'd be a big get and one of the few I've seen that could have a big impact on our run to Omaha. There's others that would be nice additions, but finding a place in our stacked lineup will be a challenge.

Edit to add, I feel pitching depth was what cost us the title. You can't have too many great arms in the stable.

This kid, the San Diego pitcher, a catcher and whatever it takes to solidify the middle infield (Ali/Kent or the UWs) and call it good.

Well, we certainly didn't have a stud game 2 starting pitcher in the series. I'll take that UW pitcher. Would have been nice to have Lamkin, CC, then Ash all in game 3. We win.

I think the middle infield will be well taken care of. Adding a piece never hurts, but we have and are getting some really good young talent there. Catcher is a need and needed depth. Pitching, especially elite pitching, you can never have enough.

I really like our incoming fish MI but I think we probably lose one to MLB and that puts a lot of pressure on a single kid to kill it. ...I am very nervous about how these teams portal without blowing up their HS recruiting. I think that has to be a very delicate balance.

I think Ali would be well advised to return for another year. He has the necessary physical tools to play at the next level and even accel. It's his mental game that will be his downfall at this point. From what I observe, in his current mental state, he'll be eaten alive at the next level with the amount of amazing talent he'll have to compete with. You'd better be an incredibly confident, cocky player, because the talent around you is amazing and many a good players shrink to that pressure.

I live by one simple rule, and no, it's not a happy wife is a happy life. ;-)

Latest I've read is the imaging was clean, he's on rest now but should be good to go in time for next season. No surgery expected as of now.

Good players, no doubt. Coach will set the standard for how to accept these new players and start building good chemistry immediately. I'm sure Earley has already confirmed that the newbies are solid guys on and off the field.
