College Sports is now an arms race and the alumni that support NIL financially at their school will see on field success. Those who fail to support are leaving it up to others to support, but make no mistake when support falters on field performance falters. Look Addison tabs above TEXAS AGGIES UNITED. Very easy to plug in and do what you can. Gig 'em!

Don't get me wrong. I love college sports (at least what it used to be) and want A&M to succeed, but I'm not gonna pay for that other than buying tickets to games. I can think of no worse way to spend my hard earned money than to give to 18-23 year olds who are making more money than I am based on the rumors.

Especially when there is no guarantee that it'll bring a championship.

I'll leave that to the BMAs

No thanks. I'll keep giving to the TMF to provide scholarships, per diem, top-notch coaching, and great college facilities for these college kids. They can go find opportunities for a little spending money. There's plenty of summer oilfield jobs that pay really good, just like there was in the '80s.

Plus, Texas Aggies United will have to become a lot more transparent about who is running their organization, like the TMF does, if they want more than just extremely wealthy individuals or businesses to join.

Based on what I see on TexAgs, the TMF is already finding ways to provide financial support to Texas Aggies United, which I find interesting.

The funny thing is sip treachery has energized our donor base with regard to NIL participation.

We will never know how much the baseball players NIL improved due to the coaching change. But the bottom line is the sips thought they would destroy our program but instead they made it stronger.

Not only "no guarantee that it'll bring a championship" but that they will not enter the transfer portal

Name 1 baseball player that you have seen w/a BIG NIL deal.

I know an A&M kid who was getting $6K. Were others getting more? $500/no is nothing, IMO as it relates to reasons that leave/transfer.

I'm eagerly awaiting someone to provide factual data that ANY baseball player is getting big money.

I thought it was confirmed that BMont got $500k to come here

Other than that I've heard no 'real' numbers bandied about on here.

Exactly my point. Lots of talk, no proof. Same w/every sport.

There are plenty of ways to justify not supporting Texas Aggies United and I'm not here to argue those reasons. Each of us must do as we feel led with the funds we have. I know several students and young grads giving 20.00/mo to 100.00/mo. It adds up, and gives programs the power to attract and retain elite players. This results in championships and more exposure and money for the program.

I also support the TMF and it does a lot to provide for all Aggies.
I'm fully aware that this paradigm is changing the game for the worse. But I value our university, the athletic programs, the athletes, and our ability to compete on the field.

If I was dead broke I would give nothing. But I'm fortunate enough to have a little disposable income I can direct to good causes so I'm doing that.

The reason I'm making the post is we got money whipped on Schloss to some degree, and lost some solid football recruits to other programs probably due to NIL deals, and we need to retain what we have and build. If most of us simply give a little, we can't be beat in this arms race.

Nope. Schlossnagle was unhappy here. It was clear. He made a comment in an interview that not having the dance team at football games was stupid. What baseball coach makes comments about football's game day atmosphere? He clearly thought he was something more than just the men's baseball coach.

His boy is at tu. Maybe he'll be happy there? I've moved on.

But we were not money whipped.

Only those close to these negotiations know to what degree each factor played a role in losing Schloss. He did double his salary moving from us to the whornz. In any case our programs need our financial support, that is the bottom line.

Do they take a fee from the donations? If they do at all then don't give a dime to them. I'm sure there are rich donors that can give dollar for dollar on particular things. This sounds like a money making scheme for someone that wants a job.

I believe they take 15% as an administrative fee. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Texas Aggies United is an add-on membership that is combined with a TexAgs Basic, Premium or Varsity subscription on a monthly or annual basis. Approximately 85% of every dollar generated through Texas Aggies United goes directly to student-athletes, with the remainder used to cover operating costs related to creating content, merchandise and experiences for our supporters.

I didn't realize it was attached to Texags. That may be a little better in terms of accountability. But I believe they should donate the costs of the fund. Texags is a business and I'm not here to tell a business how to operate.

However, I would never give money to someone as a middle man for a particular cause without them covering the administrative and accounting costs as their donation. This doesn't seem to be the case or possibly even within the rules.

Just a bad idea all around.

Not doing TAU again until they drop the sales tax. The biggest winner in this arrangement is TexAgs.
