The shortest offseason the team has seen but it will feel like the longest. At least we have football and some fall ball to pass the time waiting.

Football is football and all that, but I can safely say I'm more looking forward to some baseball than the absolute circus that is college football.

I'm with you there, but I have to admit that our baseball program is kind of turning me into a hypocrite. I hate the portal and what it has done to college football, but I'll have to admit it doesn't seem so bad in baseball.

baseball is just a different sport, so yeah, I think you are right.

The portal, while I don't like it from a "college sports" fan, I think is just necessary. It's not fair to hold these kids out a year because they made the wrong choice for themselves when they were 18. (Of course, when coupled with NIL now, it's just free agency… but institutions and everyone else made billions off these kids.)

So far, whoever wears 12 has had the worst season of their career. Let's maybe give it to someone who isn't an All-American. You know, just in case.

Jace or Schott would make an excellent #12. Both worked so hard to rally the guys through all of this.

Guessing 350. Two golf baseball stories: I worked with a guy in the early 90s who played for Michigan on their late 80s CWS team with Barry Larkin, he himself played through AAA. Could hit 300+ with a gen1 Big Bertha. Crazy long but would hit anywhere on any given swing. Hilarious and super frustrating for him.

Second: when I lived in Florida, Justin Verlander was a member of the local CC. The range was two-sided (spots at both ends) and 325 of range between. Behind the hitting area at the far end (20 yards) was another 10 yards of grass and then an access road. I watched Verlander bounce balls off that road 360 yards away. Crazy.
