This is simply a mental block

We don't have bad talent. These players weren't projected to be really good by mistake. Baseball and golf are two sports that the mind can take over negatively and ruin talent. Max Homa hasn't made a cut on the PGA tour since last July. He didn't suddenly become a bad golfer. Our hitters didn't suddenly become bad hitters.

We will see them play great baseball again this season. The hope is they break out of it far sooner than later.

and for those that will say it's the coaches job to snap them out of it must never have played and been in a slump in their life. I don't believe for a second he's not busting his backside saying all the right things to get their minds right. It's just simply not that easy to do when the mind goes south like this.

A solid start would just get back to having fun playing baseball. Positivity goes a long way.

Now que the responses screaming Earley should be getting their minds right...all you'll be telling me is you never played.

the Ags will probably play better...

but due to the dramatic increase in competition that's coming in the next 19 games...as opposed to the first 19 games (which featured Elon, Rice, PV, TSU, etc..,)

the W-L record may not be much better than 10-9

better make hay against Vandy and Kentucky

Seems to me that a couple of guys getting red hot is going to lift the guys around them. The pitching has been adequate. Get the bats going and go on a tear.

Also, are the boys playing enough fungo golf?

I have a personal saying that's kinda stupid but it helps me out.

Confidence is made by you.

These guys just need to realize they are good ball players, but sometimes things don't go your way. You got two choices. Sit and cry or move forward. But nobody can make that choice for you except you.

yeah, coach's post game interviews don't seem to inspire confidence.

I love how the last two replies proved my point lol. Clueless about this game.

and the post game interviews are dumb, the questions asked are terrible and repetitive. Quite confident that's what Earley shows frustration about there. The answers are the same to the same bad questions asked over and over again.

"What did the Bama pitchers do well that caused you problems"....Threw a lot of strikes and we didn't hit the strikes

"How did you feel about your starters outing"...He was amazing again, we have some of the best weekend starters around.

"Do you plan any lineup changes"...sure we have to keep mixing it up until it works

The interviews are quite pointless.

And I'll add hitting the ball hard into outs makes it worse mentally even though your closer. A jam shot bloop single down the line is more likely to get you going than 110 mph lineout. It's a stupid game, but we love it.

What are so many people insistent on making this purely a player issue and pretending Earley & his staff are doing nothing wrong?

To each their own. I'd prefer my coach feel devastated for this team in the interview than chipper. If he was upbeat and positive in the interview then we'd hear complaining that he doesn't get that this isn't the standard at A&M.

Coach looks and sounds defeated. That has to change fast.
I hate tu. It's in my blood.

There's sulking, sad, defeated, beaten, withdrawn AND then there's irritated/frustrated with a calm commanding presence of determination. You tell me if his demeanor is before or after "AND"

Well, the attitude of the captain was pretty damning.

You're one game away from winning the national championship and these players and this school isn't good enough for you, regardless of when the deal was done?

I believe in years to come when we look back on Aggie baseball, 2025 will appear as an outlier with the betrayal and abandonment of the POS as the most significant related factor.

You think they're not aware of that ******* and how he is doing?

Now, in addition, what you have is ballplayers increasingly anxious about their careers with their drop in performance. All these things have created a perfect storm, but at some point they just have to enjoy the game and let everything else go.

Some individuals and teams may move on from similar events, I don't believe this team has. There was a reason we began the season ranked #1, despite the change in staff, turnover, etc., yet their play has been so unexpected and abnormal it is beyond the average response to change.

They are exceptional players who were **** on by their captain.

they have talent and can play better and they will. However, they did, in fact, suddenly become bad hitters. It will be interesting to see what it takes to get them going again.

The real problem is that Earley is what management and leadership experts classify as an effective subordinate and an ineffective leader. Earley does better working in an organization beneath a person who is proverbially calling the shots while helping that leader to make the right calls along the way.

Earley was thrown from being en effective subordinate into the role of ineffective, confused, lost, and non-mentored leader. It is not that Earley is a bad person; it is that his personality at this point in his career calls for him to be baseball team's subordinate coach and not the head coach.

It's the coach. He wasn't ready to lead this team. Trev may have been ham strung with his coaching hire but it really appears to be a very bad selection of a coach. And you know that just fuels the d-heads over inflated ego 90 miles away
