I can remember not too long ago some of the returning players were talking about how potent the offense was going to be. I bet they wish they would have kept their mouths shut.

uh, you want players that don't believe in themselves? I believe people were asking them if they liked the offense.

This, along with 32 out of our 54 outs via strikeouts speaks volumes as to how great our former hitting coach, and now head coach is doing.

In addition to the items mentioned above (strikeout total and lack of lead runner), 12 of 18 innings the first two batters were retired.

That is the dictionary definition of offensive futility.

It's an interesting study of coaching incompetence. Everyone that returned has regressed to an unbelievable level, and the new guys in the roster are regressing game-by-game. Outside of 3 starting pitchers, we're watching one of the worst teams in baseball.
