14 is probably the magic number but ooc could see us as first 5 out instead of last 5 in with less than 15
15-9 the rest of the way in conference against the remaining schedule is likely not doable.

Yep., don't blow late leads to Cal-Poly and Zona who are having solid seasons maybe 14 wins would be enough. Definitely can not have another bad loss like Texas St. in the midweek. We're not going to sniff double digit conference wins. Everyone can stop trying to will this into existence. This is the worst Aggie baseball team I've seen since the turn of the century. I don't care who's hurt and who's on the roster. This season is a lost cause. Trust me, I hate going from basketball season to the long wait for football to start, but that is our reality.

Thats the comparison everyone is clinging to for some ray of hope. They had a key player or two come back from injury and a pitcher emerge out of nowhere, if I recall correctly.DD88 said:

looking at the current SEC standings...
the four teams tied for 1st place are:
Tennessee, Arkansas, Georgia, and t.u.
A&M plays all 4 of those clubs on the road...oh boy
those 4 series may account for the "10" in the needed 14-10 record

the key for the Rebels was getting 2 sweeps in the 2nd half of conference play...
after getting swept twice in the 1st half of league play

What sucks is that going 12-12 for the rest of the SEC stretch would be really good considering the schedule… problem is we started 0-6 and couldn't take care of the non conference

By 10, you mean 12. We'll lose all 12 of those games. It's being realistic at this point.
I'm saying 13-17 in SEC gets us in for sure. These are now Super Conferences. I could see a 12-18 team into the tournament too, but that'd probably require a good/decent OOC record.
That was before these Super Conferences. 8-10 record used to be the worst you could do in basketball to make the big tournament, but now it's 6-12 with decent OOC.clem93 said:

We have know idea how the committee is going to handle the Super Conferences with baseball. I certainly would not look how the basketball committee field out the field and extrapolate it to baseball. the question to me is whether it changes the standard from years past by 1 win or 2 wins.
