How did A&M get such a difficult schedule? I just looked at what remains:

@ Tennessee
@ Arkansas
@ Texas
@ Georgia

That is one challenging schedule. Need to turn things around quickly.

We were given a gift of an SEC schedule in football (no Bama, UGA, or Tennessee, plus Texas at home) this fall.

Basketball as well (our 'mirrored opponents were LSU, OU, and Texas, plus we got Auburn and Tennessee at home).

Even softball caught a huge break (we don't play #1 Texas or #2 Oklahoma, and we play #3 LSU and #4 Florida at home).

We were due to get punched in the mouth, schedule-wise.

I'm very surprised softball isn't playing Texas

Can't be, it's been stated on this site over and over again that the SEC, NCAA, entire world will always match us up vs the sips any chance they get

Well, if there ever was a year to have that schedule, this is it - our current expectations for this season are close to zero for the majority of the fan base. That would have been a daunting away slate for the team we fielded last year (would be for any top SEC team).

Next year is going to be a rebuilt, but we do have a few young guys already getting experience and looking pretty good (Kiel, Farr, McCoy). Farr needs to clean up his fielding a bit if he's going to remain at second moving forward.

It will be interesting to see if we are rebuilding with Earley or a new head coach.

Still dont get why we are going to knoxville when we last played them in knoxville (during the regular season). Going to Austin is also bs as they are using a regional to justify it

I mean by that logic we should have played the sips in Austin for football since the last game in 2011 was at home.

Our two matched permanent rivals for baseball are LSU and t.u.., so either we either go to Baton Rouge back to back seasons or we face sippie in Austin this year. On the other hand LSU travelled to Olsen our first two seasons in the SEC so they could have returned the favor now.

Going to Knoxville in back to back seasons was a bit more of a head scratcher. My biggest question with SEC scheduling other than the permanent and the alternating home/away for these is there some sort of set rotation going forward.
