No. As I recall, Volantis had first been committed to USC. He is a local kid to my area. My son faced him in a HS game last year. He was drafted late in MLB draft, but chose to go to college.

Amazing the amount of talent Texas has picked up from this part California… Gasparino, Farmer, Volantis.

I believe he was committed to USC

They discussed it a bit during the game today. I don't remember the particulars of why but he was definitely a USC commit not an Aggie commit.
