They left a ton of hangers over the plate it looks like to me. I'm wondering how much all those homers had to do with the "bad pitching".

Cudos to our players for hammering mistakes though. We obviously have very talented hitters, which our lineup finally looks pretty dangerous with guys like Bear and Ben Royo really emerging.

I'm going to need to see one more series win before I'm back in. If they win 2 series in a row, I think support has to be back pretty strong. Maybe Earley is starting to fix things?

This wasn't against a nobody and on the road so it means something. I think it's a matter of it's sustainable. If it continues I think the big question is what drove the turnaround? I think it was on the players. They hit rock bottom and would always be know as the total flops. Pride finally took over and here we go. Or at least I hope.

The staff has a 3.10 ERA and .213 BAA on the season, even after we shelled them yesterday.

One of the HRs came off Dylan Loy, whose only run given up on the year was yesterday. He's pitched 14.1 innings given up 3 hits and 3 walks.

Not saying we didn't get some hangers, but they have a really good pitching staff.

all will be made plain in the fullness of time. -- some philosopher or other.

I mean hitting is essentially making pitchers pay for mistakes. We made Tennessee pay for every single mistake. That's not really something I've seen A&M do yet this year.

Most hitting is taking advantage of mistakes yes, my point was they seemed to have a bad day leaving a lot hanging over the middle for us. Like much more than they probably usually do. I'm interested to see if we can start to win in a closer game maybe or if we can do that again.

I'm pretty sure UT thought they would just roll in here and overpower and demolish the Ags. So no need for scouting or having a strategy on how to get us out, and this was only acerbated by the run-rule/no hit on Friday. They chose wrong.

Vitello addressed that in post-game PC. He said we took advantage to pitches left over the middle of the plate.

He also said we outplayed them.

Gotta read between the lines with him sometimes.

It also looked like the wind was blowing in, so none of those shots were slightly hit balls that got up into a jet stream heading to the fences.

Just like everything in sports, hitting is infectious. Particularly if you see teammates hammering the ball, you can relax and drive your pitch.

Hitting is contagious a little confidence helps. We get Kash back and Schott having better AB's we are gonna be a tough out.

Also was the first game they looked like they were having fun! That is a dominant staff all those kids were running it up there 94-99.

Pretty sure TN has one of the best pitching rosters in baseball. Saying they basically gave us HRs would make me question the individual who asked the question.

As another posted, it is really a question of sustainability. It is not a question of talent or about getting lucky pitches. These are SEC series.

Everyone knows this guy is a sip troll.

Right?

Most of his posts twists things as a positive to Schloss.

Or like this one, trying to twist a positive for A&M as some form of negative.

I'm highlighting this bc the baseball forum is pretty strong with good Ags. Just start flagging this guys post and they will disappear.

you're a child. Stop attacking people just cause you don't like what they say.

If you think I'm being hard on the team, you haven't read half of the stuff on here.

Schloss was the best coaching we've had in decades and had this program as almost natty champs! I'm not the only person that recognizes that lol. Schloss is an unbelievable coach and we all recognized that before he ditched us. Some people want to learn the lessons Schloss taught and not just cry about him. I guess some can only speak negatively about him now cause they are silly.

Thank you for highlighting officer forums. Your duty is appreciated. I guarantee you I'm not the only one questioning whether the team is actually back.

I'll be cheering for you to grow up.

How has bad pitching, hitting and fielding affected us and allowed the other team to win?

Go check out his post on the basketball forum making fun of the Aggie War Hymn. It's a classic.

Every pitcher, in college, is going to throw at least a couple of mistakes of the heart of the plate in any outing.

What was encouraging was that it seemed like the entirety of the lineup was ready to hit a HR when that mistake came, that is very rare. Even if only a couple guys keep seeing the ball and executing that well it will bode well for the team.

If we'd hit half as many of the mistake pitches that we saw in the last six weeks as we did on Saturday we'd be ranked in the top 10 and talking about what it would take to win the conference, rather than get in the tournament.
