Ok, so where do you sit?

This is my forecast based on the assumption that the bats remain hot and 2 of the 3 game SEC series see good pitching (but not elite or dominate). And yes, absolutely sunshine pumper forecast.

23 games left. We take every series except LSU. Do not lose another mid-week.

17-23 for the remainder as the best case.

3-9 right now. If this somehow pans out, puts em at 16 wins with 14 losses in SEC if my math is correct. Easily gets em into tourney with a very, very, very slight chance of a national rank if they made an SEC tourney run and/or take out 3 of the 4 very top ranked teams (TN, Ark, TX, LSU).

Feel good about this as there is room for error. This team can go to 13 wins with 17 losses and still make tournament. Maybe 12 wins depending if they beat Top 5 ranked SEC series and lose to lesser.

Biggest question for my sunshine mind is if this past weekend was a fluke or what we will see moving forward. Tomorrow will say a lot even against a lesser opponent.

My realistic prediction is that we will win our last five Tuesday games and 11 of our remaining 18 SEC games to finish 32-22 (14-16 SEC).

Fair enough. There probably needs to be an assumption around Earley.

I'd like to see continuous improvement and not have 14 strikeouts a game.

Saturday was a fluke until proven otherwise. Series wins against Mizzou and maybe USC. Series losses for the rest. We need to beat the brakes off of USC to change my mind this weekend.

If we get it together enough to squeak into a regional that shouldn't be enough to keep Earley imo either.

Edit: If Saturday wasn't a fluke we take the series against UGA in Athens and LSU in College Station, but fall to the sips in Austin and to the hogs in Fayetteville. Would still not be enough to justify retaining Earley imo.
