The lines curse at each other EVERY play, the receiver and corner, within feet of the line judge, curse at each other EVERY play.
If Wade 4 got a tech every time he cursed, audibly and visually on TV, his jersey wouldn't be in the rafters because he'd have been on the bench in the first half every game.
I've heard plenty cursing in church league softball lol!

Baseball is a family game.
It's the typical "I saw something I didn't like, shouldn't we get something out of it?" while ignoring what our own players do all over the place, and everybody is fine with while we are winning.Quote:

If you've got sons (or daughters) playing sports, doubt you want to know what has come out of their mouth. Many of us have done all that on Sat, and sat next to those opposing players on the same pew at church on Sunday morning.
I'm sure my dad '86 (who is still a line judge, umpire, referee and track starter) would say "watch your pottymouth".
And I would laugh and say "BULLSHT, don't tell me you weren't doing that on the field yourself". (He was, and like OP, would probably get pissy for me reminding him that he did, and we can also still go to church on Sunday AM)
Nothing has changed, people just get whiny when they get old, forget what they were doing when 20yo and younger, and look for opportunities to whine at what other teams players are doing, while ignoring what ours are doing (which is the same stuff they were doing when they were on a field, if they were.)

From the umpiring view cursing is tolerated and normal. it's an issue when it directed personally with YOU instead of THAT
Cursing is part of normal vernacular so as long as it's not threatening another player/ coach or umpire… it goes unnoticed.

When there was confusion on the USCe home run that they eventually called correctly, the audio cast cut over to the umpire discussion and the umps were dropping swear words left and right. I thought the cut over was awesome to hear the discussion, but I wonder if the umps knew they were on a hot mic
