This one was personal. They are all personal against t.u., but this one for obvious reasons was bigger. I wanted a series win as bad as I've ever wanted an Aggie victory. I have been around baseball enough to believe in the baseball gods, or karma, or whatever you want to call it. Schloss himself believes in it, because one of the things he always said here was that "the game knows." I don't know if I can buy that anymore, because if there is any such thing, then Schloss was in for quite a beating this weekend. I was truly hoping for, and would not have been shocked to see, at least one thumping by the Ags. But it didn't happen, and life will go on. I can promise you know one was trying harder than the team.

As for our team, these truly are our guys. This baseball team personifies what it means to be Aggies as much as any I've watched in any sport. Win or lose, they have a character about them that I am proud to have representing my university. These players, not the coaches, brought the Aggie baseball program to an all-time high last year, and I am fortunate to have watched every minute of it. Then they stayed here, all of them, when many could have gone to any program of their choosing. I am grateful for their loyalty. And this year, even with the early-season lows, I am thankful for the lessons they have taught us about perseverance and how to keep fighting when everything seems to be against them.

To any players who might read this, we are behind you. We know how personal this is for you because of the time, energy, blood, sweat, and tears that you put into this. And because of the personal relationships that you have formed with each other, and with some who were in the other dugout this weekend. You represented yourselves and A&M well, just as you always do. You stood up to the challenge and provided some fantastic plays. Sure, in the end there were too many balls that were just barely missed, or didn't carry out the way they normally do. That's baseball. But this weekend was personal for all Aggies, and we are thankful for your fight. There are no moral victories. We all want to win and are rooting for your success. We will be behind you all the way through this season, and I have no doubt that great things are still ahead.

Let's give 'em hell the rest of the way. BTHO Lamar and lsu!

I am proud of winners - especially paid professional athletes with unlimited free agency...which is what these "boys" are. Yea...they're good guys and all of that, but college athletics is now a pro sports league. And in pro sports leagues, one thing and only one thing matters and that's winning.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

You know the other shtick that's beyond worn out?
The ancient-school mindset that if we beat t.u. in whatever sport that it's a successful season for that sport.

If we're ever gonna evolve, we need to build teams that are built to beat any and everybody. And they just need to turn into another part of the everybody.

Giving them special attention and letting them occupy so much of our head space is just stupid.
Does nothing but continue to pour more fuel onto the whole "little brother" thing we all hate.

Curious what Earley is thinking right now?

This may be the best team he ever coaches and his old boss played him like a fiddle. Now his back is against the wall just to make the post season, gotta win all remaining series. Assuming he does make it he then has to go to a top 8 program and pull off an upset. Then when he gets to Omaha he has to win a few to save face and convince top recruits to come to A&M next year. This is assuming he convinces everyone to stay. That is a big mountain for an inexperienced coach.

When you haven't won anything of significance for nearly 100 years you get so desperate that you start thinking that beating texas is enough. But you're right. It's not. I guess that doesn't matter, though, because we're not even beating texas.

Sips seem to want to have a parade for their wins over us. Don't be like them. We almost won a national championship last year. That's the goal, even if this is an injured year in Year 1 of new coach, where next season will be the much better season.

I'm sure someone's been ranked #1 during this transfer-portal age, but winning a national championship is all that matters.

What? They're 19-2, number 1 and likely number 1 national seed. They don't throw a parade for beating an underachieving sub .500 SEC team.

We got excellent starting pitching; however, that is where the kudos end. Earley cost this team multiple runs in each game with borderline baffling moves, nearly at every possible decision in the game. You have to prepare your team and put them in the best possible position to be successful, he didn't, plain and simple. We saw similar mistakes littered throughout losses early in the season as well. He doesn't seem to have improved or learned at all.

Sure doesn't help when your best hitters totally no show, especially when it matters the most. I'm not sure how you can explain Jace's weekend without calling it a choke. He did same at the end of last season as well.

Just brutal way to lose when we clearly had the more talented team.

When you get beat down like you are little brother and don't do anything about it, that in itself fuels the fire plenty. We should aspire to make the playoffs every year in football and beat the number one team in baseball. There is a team in Texas that is doing that and it ain't us. That is who we need to take down on the way to where we want to be. It's way more than just a rivalry.

It's hard to win on the road. It's hard to beat the number 1 team. But it is also hard to sweep a team. We at the very least should have won at least one game. It was painful to watch. Losing 3 games by 1 run is tough. Hopefully they use it as motivation and play well the remainder of the season.

Early is a hitting coach at heart. That being said, focus on not hitting into double plays. Why, swinging at bad pitches and watching good ones. Pitching and fielding were all non factors.

AMAZING SERIES!

Hard to watch it to be honest. The bats went cold and that marginalized our advantage. But they had a chance to win every game till the very last out.

They simply could not get that much needed single hit in each game.

One swing difference in all three games.

Lets flush it. And get back to showing the entire nation the A&M is the #2 team in the SEC. And hopefully we just keep improving to prove ourselves as #1 by taking the Natty.

Baseball Gods? Maybe, just maybe, this was meant to be. And the Gods will punish Schloss in the CWS. Talk about writing a fairy tale movie.

Lets keep our heads down and get to Omaha to give Schloss what he deserves. I know this much. I guarantee you that Schloss never wants to face A&M again this season!!!!!!!

Keep coaching Earley. Keep playing your heart outs players. Ignore all the noise and hate from the terrible A&M fans.

I don't think it was ugly sans a few infield transfers. We just couldn't plate runs consistently with RISP. Some hard hit balls right to defenders. t.u.s fielding was pretty good.

But the problem is we have people that use them as the measuring stick, no matter their rank, no matter the sport.

And that's the part that's ridiculously narrow minded and short sighted

These are players paid to win. They didn't. This isn't a team of Aggies like us as it used to be. Thankfully I resolved several years ago not to be affected by the outcome. I wanted the Ags to win but them losing really has zero affect on my real life.
