He actually went after Tadlock first. Tech gave him a lifetime contract bc they had just lost Beard to Texas. No way they were losing another.

There was another one, not sure who and I think Schloss actually reached out to us bc he wanted to leave TCU bc of his divorce.

Heffner isn't going anywhere. DBU gives him opportunities to fulfill his spiritual development.

Tadlock has taken steps backward in the NIL/transfer portal era.

My understanding was the Big 3 were Tadlock, Schloss, and Vitello when we hired Schloss back then.

Vitello had just had one astonishing season at Tennessee, their program wasn't yet viewed as a powerhouse and there was thinking we could maybe get him if we couldn't get Tadlock or Schloss.

Amazing how good Bjork is starting to look in hindsight. He made some great hires. Mostly on the ladies side, but still.

I do remember a LOT of discussion about Vitello at the time

This. POS made way too many snide remarks about A&M traditions and fans. He called us out for not showing up for Pete's sake. The guy is a little weird. Oh, and he's a swinger. So there's that.

His radio/TV interviews always seemed offputting and dismissive. Kind of a jackass tbh. He was tolerated because we won. Can't deny he was a great coach. Just kind of a dooosh IMO

He hired Trisha/Joni, which is a wash.

He tried to pay Mike Stoops $9M/yr

Schloss landed in his lap (everyone knows that's true).

So what great hiring track was he on?

Bjork hired neither of our tennis coaches (certainly not our national winning ladies coach), merely elevated our men's golf assistant coach (which now everyone is trashing baseball over), and hired a women's golf coach who's team doesn't impress.

So what exactly did Bjork do across any of these sports that matters?

Again-Trisha Ford, great hire. You got one. She's offset by Joni Taylor for sure.

Who the hell else did he hire that anyone would say "wish Ross Bjork was still here"?

If you have to lie about the women's golf team to prove your point that's all I need to know.

Volleyball coach as well is kicking butt.

Got it, you did not like Ross. But you are dead wrong on this argument. You might want to sit this one out.

If we had passed on Schloss in 2022 for an unproven Vitello, and Schloss had gone to LSU (which he absolutely would have)- the meltdown here would have been absurd.

I knew some things about Schloss' time at TCU which gave me some pause. That was the reason why. He was under a lot of personal pressure those final years at TCU and took it out on players.

I don't think these dudes realize the players don't give a crap what's going on in the stands and the atmosphere at Olsen has never been lacking. It's an idiotic argument.
