You have been a member here since 2007. You have had to see one of the 1000 previous times this has been asked before. If not, it's because you don't come to the baseball/softball board enough further proving why it's not needed.

There are 54 forums on this site, a site for which the most part exists so people can keep up with and be connected to Aggie sports. A thousand threads asking why there aren't separate forums for baseball and softball would be greater than well over two thirds of the threads on most of these other forums.
There's one called "around the globe" or something of that sort. The last post was 2 months ago, yet we still have a forum…so don't patronize me with your ****ty comments and tell me it's because no one posts there much…

Does a year long softball thread or a weekend "game thread" offend you?
There are several Aggies who follow both diamond sports and like the ease of catching up on what happened on the sport that isn't their primary diamond sport.
I see this thought posted annually and can understand the insecurity of baseball fans who can't handle a separate thread that don't have click on that talks about softball

Where do you get I'm offended or insecure?? Good lord, It's just a question man…we have separate men's and women's basketball, why? Why separate any of the sports then? From a technical IT standpoint it such a simple fix.
Also you want convenience? Just save your favorite forums to the top of your page, It's pretty easy to switch between them…

fix, if you take out all the non Aggie soccer threads there isn't any threads left. Just like right now the WBB board is absolute ghost town.
I like softball here, there aren't enough posters to carry an entire board just for softball. I think most of us here are fans of both and like having both here to follow both sports.
I'm not trying to be an ass, but couldn't you just as easily click on a forum title "Softball" in your "Favorites" right above or below "Baseball"?

Edit: there are three ongoing threads there right now about recent happenings with Longley, the Player Development Center and D1 Baseball Preview of the Ags. There are several hundred responses from a couple days of posting.
The answer is it has been part of the forum provider's discretion to group communities to help foster interaction. It is an act of moderation and it really is their decision. You can contact them directly since they rarely interact here to address moderation decisions.

Right and don't need more with little traffic. I think having softball here works just fine. Most on here follow both sports or both of those are very compatible to have in a single forum.
WBB and MBB don't fit that. Although at this point you could roll WBB back into other sports, there is hardly any traffic on it

I thought it was before that. I seem to remember it was all basketball, so NBA and college, so when they split out NBA, they also split out WBB. I know MLB was combined in this board at one time and I thought they split out all the pro sports into their own boards at the same time??????

You understand that there is way more discussion about baseball on Premium? If you moved all of that here, there would be plenty of traffic for baseball. Maybe not softball and perhaps that's why. But you've got a couple discussion groups going on, with the same baseball topics.
Perhaps Texags wants premium members to be able to discuss in seclusion??
yes premium is a PAY board. you're not supposed to post anything on premium on a free board, esp if the content is provided or posted by STAFF.
Outside of HOP, very few staff members post much of anything on free boards. Hop would post here and MBB.

the threads I'm speaking of are not Staff content threads. They're general discussions on baseball, the same threads as what's on the Baseball/Softball board.

More posts doesn't necessarily mean more knowledge. There's multiple folks here with inside information. We don't need more Negative Normans and Chatty Charlies.

I think when splitting forums up, you have to think about moderation of the threads. Its not necessarily more posts to look through for bad actors by TA staff, but its an additional place to comb through.
To your point about premium vs baseball board, to me they serve 2 different purposes. Premium board will be on top of breaking news and will usually have breaking topics first, but this baseball forum has much more enjoyable posters and level headed personalities to discuss with. I'm much less afraid of being wrong on this forum than on premium where someone will get POTD for a snarky remark aimed at you. Not saying I haven't been snarky on premium. The care factor here is higher and not just when A&M baseball is in the news for the good or bad.
I like getting my baseball and softball fix in the same spot and I think its doable because threads don't get hidden quickly here.

There are discussion threads on premium (not staff content and not started by staff…just actual discussions) that are the exact same topics of threads on the Baseball Softball forum…and in fact there is MUCH more discussion there…
If the logic for not having separate forums are because of traffic (as alluded to by some) then combining all of the discussion from both forums into a Baseball only forum, will increase the traffic and discussion thereof…

frankly staff has never said what are the thresholds for creating a new board. I would think traffic is a consideration, along with moderation. Also some boards have sponsors. If you want a softball only board and are willing to sponsor it, my guess is they'll create it if the price is right.

I understand that rationale as well. Game threads are simply brutal, as bad as football, and the majority of the hacks there know jack **** about baseball…
Having said that, that's your reasoning for not wanting a single forum as opposed to why the staff hasn't set the site up with a single forum.
I'm just going to point out Volleyball got their own forum this year and then they won a natty for the first time in program history.
