Was fun while we knew you. I knew the construction would reduce the capacity of Olsen lot, but didn't realize it was going to be this bad.

The approximate priority point rank that qualified for Blue Bell parking for the 2026 baseball season was 305.

I know there was another thread about baseball tailgating, but thought this needed its own.

They need to turn the old softball field into tailgate parking. I'd pay a premium for it. But I'm sure they have other plans for that space.

The construction site is massive. Maybe some additional parking opens up there post-construction,

Yea I wonder what they are going to put there?

They should just build a garage next to olsen and convert the remaining parking into tailgate spots.

I suspect the cut off will go from donor number 305 to 610 or something like that.

What they really need to do is to reserve the SE quadrant of Reed for season ticket holders, at least on the weekends. How they do it now is almost like the old days when there was no reserved parking at all. So, while we're paying more for season tickets, when it comes to parking, we get treated the same as the folks who buy one GA ticket per year.

1000% there are designated areas for top donors for hoops. Can do this for baseball as well with a little work.

Don't wanna be that guy, but for improvements, there's gonna be sacrifices, from all of us. Assuming you're a big donor, I thank you for your financial contributions. Still, the unfortunate part of baseball being significantly smaller than football is that the infrastructure isn't built around it, so we gotta make do. We're getting some really good facilities in exchange for parking, and I'm willing to park a bit farther away if that means our players can be the best they can be, win championships, and represent Texas A&M and us.

I'm not a big donor, but a 36 year season ticket holder. I pay for a parking pass which covers every game, but because I don't make the cutoff for lot 100j (and havent for a couple of years), when I go to park, I'm on equal footing with the folks who don't buy the season parking pass. They've got a huge lot at Reed, which they divide up for basketball games. Doing the same for baseball is not a huge ask, particularly given the prices we pay for season tickets.

I'm fine parking at Reed, I just think that the Reed lot shouldn't be treated as one massive free for all. And, technically, they already do this on a limited basis with that small lot on the East side. I don't know who it's reserved for during baseball, but it shows that they can segregate the lots if they want to.

I contacted the TMF last year and suggested a separate parking area for season ticket holders. TMF said parking is under the control of Transportation Services. I contacted TS and was told they would consider and coordinate with the TMF.

And of course, nothing happened.

do you pay more for season long parking than you would for paying individually for each game or is it cheaper? I guess if you get no advantage in reserved parking, why buy the pass at all esp if you don't make a bunch of games.

If you get a price break, it is very little. And you pay the same to park at Reed as you do 100j. So, financially, it makes no sense for me to keep purchasing parking. But, I do, in hopes that they will come to their senses and make it worthwhile.

I see. It would seem to me they could take the area in front of Reed and make it "reserved" parking, they already do that for football for the endowed donors. But they may be using that to cover the handicapped parking for Olsen, which would be ironic since it's so far away.

Why stop with tailgate parking at the old softball complex, turn it into a parking garage.

That has to be supremely frustrating! You would think they would provide a little better customer service for a dedicated season ticket holder

there are plans for covered practice field for the west campus sports to use in case of bad weather. Plus it'd be a pretty small garage unless you had it taller than the current ones.

they really don't need to, they have over demand for season tickets, so they don't need to really provide any other incentives.

There's no price break. It amounts to $5 * number of games. So if you don't go to every game, there's no point in buying a pass, and I don't.

While true, you can't tell me the TMF / AD don't drive the process with Transportation Services for football.

TMF and football are completely different animals. 105,000 fans versus 6,000.

We all see the revenue as sports revenue. But it really isn't. I would agree that the TMF should be more considerate and appeal to Transportation Services to join them. But out of curiosity, is that really the absolutely top priority they need to solve even for sports-related parking? Or is it just inconvenient?

Why? It is infrastructure that requires investment and maintenance. There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

Trev has alluded to the politic of this place. He said there are too many involved in decision making, which has been a problem using Kyle Field for events in the offseason. To think that doesn't involve PTTS would be naive.
