Especially with Jeremy Peña also injured, he has a real shot to earn a lot of playing time. Even if it doesn't work out for the Astros he's gonna be putting a lot of himself out there for other teams to see. It's nice having an Aggie on the Astros
Just keep that MLB average up at a respectable level and he could stick for a while at one of the middle infield skill positions somewhere. His current .313 this year is probably just adrenaline and will drop, but anywhere .250 or higher at middle infield will result in a long MLB career.
Yes this is the first time he has the opportunity to play an entire year at the big league level. There's got to be some comfort knowing you can't be demoted for going 0-8.
