How long do you want to ignore this user?
Any aggies in Colorado have any news? I have a family trip that starts next week. Pagosa springs to ski at wolf creek. I know there are cases in CO. Wondering if places like wolf creek will be shutting down?

Thanks

I think you may see some start to limit the gondolas and such. I know Switzerland has shut down theirs at least in some places

We just left Beaver Creek and Vail. No lift lines at all, thin crowds in restaurants. It was a really pleasant trip, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the resorts shut down partially this next week.

Ski resorts are open for now. Governor Polis just stated that enclosed gondolas will only allow one related group at a time. E.g., four friends. Things can change though. Be safe.

I left Breck today. It was business as usual.

State restriction in gatherings of 250+ people specifically does not apply to lift lines. But be advised that stores around Wolf Creek / Pagosa may be barren. Bring food with you if you come, and exercise the kind of safe driving your grandfather took for granted: full-size spare tire with air, battery booster, basic tools, a gallon of water.

We cancelled our trip to pagosa and wolf creek today. We were set to arrive tomorrow but decided to cancel given the amount of uncertainty. Seems Colorado cases doubled over night and ski patrol instructors at vail actually had it. We also have a 75 year old family member with asthma in our home and could not risk bringing this back. Was a hard decision to make

I'm in Denver. All Vail resorts are open and AirBnBs are cheap and available.

Skiing is one of the safest places you can be besides home. Goggles, masks and gloves. Some gondies are closed, and you can ride a life solo if you're that scared. But considering the light crowds, that's a given.

I could see it being passed around resort employees because everything gets passed around. Tickets are thru an isolated glass window. That's the most contact you get. I don't understand the scare or concern.

We cancelled our trip yesterday. Also, some ski resorts are shutting down early. Taos announced they are closing on the 22nd.

Good call. The 75 year old in your home was the reason not to go. It seems like there's a decent chance (50/50?) you could have brought corona back home without knowing it, and infected the 75 year old.

Yep, it was a hard call but the risk outweighed the reward. Sucks though as the snow will be good

Eagle CO Life long Vail Valley resident - our half of The Valley is in a state of emergency - hotels bars restaurants closing or closed. Those that remain open are increasing sanitation procedures. The mountains are still currently open, but no guarantee they will remain so past this weekend. I've been hearing they likely will close following next week once the spring break crowds pass to take away some of the financial pain.

Current list of closures:

Beaver Creek:

Zachs Cabin

Vail:

El Segundo
Tavern on the Square
Matador
El Segundo
Shakedown Street
Mountain Standard
Sweet Basil
The Arrabelle Hotel
The Grand Hyatt Hotel

All ECO schools and CMC closed. Multiple VSP hace tested positive.

The density and larger night life and tourist draw has made vail more prone than BC - IMO.

The snows still good, the base is deep, the suns out and the weathers great. I'll be skiing BC until it closes.

Like Just Panda also live in the Vail Valley and heard the same thing. Resorts trying stay open this coming week for a big spring break week but they may not make it past tomorrow.

The Vail Valley is not a large place and per capita the virus is making the rounds pretty good here. I know a few people that likely have it and are just waiting on their tests to come back.

What were the screening procedures? Did someone need to have symptoms? A fever? Been in contact with a confirmed patient?

Or could anyone drive up for a test?

They're only loafing like parties on chair lifts at Vail/BC now. Great policy and hopefully helps.

Just left Beaver Creek yesterday to come back to Texas, and was there for five days. Eagle County had more confirmed cases as of this morning than any part of the state. Maybe that has changed as of now, but still gives me pause. The crowds were not bad at all. Rarely waited in a lift line. Only worried about having eaten lunch on the mountain each day in the restaurants. That is my highest chance of being exposed. If I had a trip this week there, or anywhere honestly, I would cancel, and I'm a physician.

I am having to quarantine an employee because there were people in the hotel who ended up testing positive. The hotel sent everyone staying there a letter informing them. He was in Aspen.

Steamboat was running about 50% of its normal skier load today. Mountain was not crowded nor was it empty. All stores and services are available. There is not TP at the supermarket, and also strangely no eggs, but other than that it's not different that it ever is.

Exactly what we locals feared for days. The Vail Valley is sooo ****ed. Now, I hope i still have work for a couple weeks to help until things pick up - hopefully that's before June. I got 3 weeks PTO/Sick days saved up but think that's not gonna be enough. Yuck

T&P to everybody.

Doesn't Vail have fantastic hospitals? There won't be any skiers taking up the beds, and everyone is generally isolated from each other there if there are no events or skiing happening.

You can't enter anywhere near Vail Health if you have any symptoms of coronavirus or had any for the prior 48 hours. It's been that way for just over a week.

All mobile physicians were told not to visit patients either for fear of transmission btwn doctors/patients.
