EVery fun board game called Ticket to Ride. It's a game of acquiring tickets to purchase train routes throughout the US or there are European additions too. Lots of fun, strategy and a bit of geography. My kids started around 8 and it wasn't mind numbing for me. They are both out of college now but we still play " The Train Game" over the holidays.

Great family game, fun for all ages.

Also appropriate right now: Pandemic, a cooperative game where 4 health workers try to fight back 4 diseases.

At my house we also enjoy Cheeky Monkey, Loopin Chewie, and Clank!

We play a lot of cards. Many versions of progressive rummy but one that you can google for the rules and is run for a group and easy to learn is 2500.

I've got my pc setup as a flight sim with head tracking and all that goodness. Guess who will still be flying back and forth to Europe.

My family likes to do puzzles, so we've got quite a few of those. Plenty of books to read or re-read.

My Hammond XK-3c.

I'm in the process of learning the keyboard parts of the best of Classic Rock and Adult Contemporary, courtesy of some excellent MIDI files that I've found on the i-net.

I have it set up with my studio monitor system to play along with the original recordings. It's a hoot to sit in with Boston, Toto, Stevie Ray, ...

...don't know how long my ears will hold out though...

If you've never watched Band of Brothers I highly recommend it. It's my #1 favorite series and is the best, most compelling piece of storytelling I have ever seen. It should be mandatory watching for every high school senior in America.

I have watched the entire ten part series every year for the past thirteen years during the week leading up to Memorial Day as my way of honoring and remembering those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. My son used to watch it with me when he as still at home and in high school. Even got my wife to watch it once. There are also bonus episodes of the making of the show and interviews with the actual men who were in EZ Company of the 101st Airborne. I bought the Blu-ray set years ago but now watch it on Netflix. Lots of great books out there written by these men giving their first-hand accounts of the war.

America would be a better place if everyone on break would watch this and remember those who paid the price for our freedom, and that as bad as this may seem Americans of other generations have experienced a lot worse, came together, and walked away victorious.
