I'm sure the shortage is going to be invented. I usually don't let my tank go below a quarter of a tank so now I'm not letting it go below half a tank as a precaution. We have a Murphy's by my house that is always packed on a normal day because they have super cheap prices all the time. Now there is hardly any lines there with their $1.76 a gallon prices while the H-E-B across the street has their overflow parking full.
I've heard reports that I can't verify that some places are running out of ammunition which makes no sense but I'll never have to worry about that again. After the last shortage I took steps to make sure that my family what's good on that front. After this shortage of food I'm going to make sure that we are always good on that front too. You don't have to do anything crazy but keeping a few week supply of non-perishables on hand is prudent.
Can you imagine if a real apocalyptic threat happened? It would be insane.
