I've read that Italy doesn't have a lot of those facilities. Not much of Europe does. Italian elderly tend to own a home and live there, with or without help.
But we saw in Washington that nursing facilities come with their own issues. Also, Japan's elderly have high "live at home" rates but they've had a different experience than Italy.
