Tell me if there is a fault in my logic here but if someone is sick - I'm thinking they should be treated as covid + even if they are not. The only harm is an unneeded extended quarantine - automatically self isolate if symptoms are not severe. Obviously if severe off to the hospital. do treatment modalities differ if covid + or -? As far as I can tell you're just treating the symptoms either way.
However the real problem seems like it lies in folks who are asymptomatic but still have to come in contact with a bunch of people on a daily basis such as healthcare, grocery store, delivery and service workers. Wouldn't it make more sense if once we ramp up production of tests to be testing these folks on a regular basis so they are not spreading the virus unknowingly ?
