I have a friend that was exposed to someone that tested positive. They had a dinner party last Sunday. Neither he nor his wife show any symptoms, and they can't be tested yet. His wife is pregnant and he's almost hysterical about having her tested. Sounds like his wife's OB office is worthless with information related to the virus. Any doctors have any info in this type situation?

There was a question in the press conference yesterday. Said they didn't have a large sample size, but didn't appear to cause any issues aside from flu. Babies were born fine.

My wife is due in12 weeks and she's the hospital microbiology lab supervisor.

It's not the Zika virus, and for most experiencing symptoms don't have very extreme changes to their condition.

I'm mostly worried about overstress and overwork at the hospital rather than anything disease related.

My wife is pregnant so I've looked into this a bit. The general feedback is what 10thyrsr just said but that pregnant women already have compromised immune systems so there are risks. More so of premature delivery than vertical transmission.

In later terms, the respiratory system is already on overdrive so anything to further hinder breathing is not ideal either.
