Mylan - Press release saying they are restarting production in West Virginia. Expect to have 50 million tablets available by mid-April.

Teva - Donating 6 million tablets immediately to hospitals and more than 10 million in a month.

Apparently these were both at the request of the federal government, which has not yet officially approved for use but it seems to be heading that way.

Add Bayer to the list, didn't see this one before I started the thread.

The press release from Mylan said it hadn't been approved yet, but it may have been after they sent it out. I think it's clear based on their actions it either has or will be very soon. They certainly would not be wasting resources ramping up production of a drug if they didn't have assurances.

The Strategic National Stockpile maintains a large inventory of antibiotics, including chloroquine for situations such as this. If this drug works, and preliminary data is encouraging, it will be a complete game changer. We should know more in a week or so.

Have heard general practitioners were already writing scripts for patients this morning THAT HAD NO SYMPTOMS but just wanted it. The pharmacist said he filled 10 straight scripts for it at one point and now they're out.

Here's what Chloroquine does to this virus.

Studies have shown so far...

1. without Chloroquine, 90% of patients still test positive at 6 days after becoming symptomatic

2. With Chloroquine, only 25% of patients still test positive at 6 days after becoming symptomatic

3. With Chloroquine plus azithromycin, only 5% of patients still test positive at 6 days after becoming symptomatic.

This doesn't even include any of the other drugs they're fast tracking approval for. Chloroquine is the drug that China is using now. Took them a while to find it but it's the main drug they're using. It's working! No new cases

Limited studies so far but showing great promise

Looks like the FDA approved it for testing on the China Virus this morning. That's what I was thinking of.

I think this will happen in mass as people as scared and want some form of control. This brings it back to them mentally.

The question in the next few days will be the cost of providing scripts to people who do not need it versus those who do.
