Humidity is the biggest factor. "Thicker" air makes it harder for droplets from coughs/sneezes to travel further. Make the infection radius per sick person much smaller.

In terms of temperature, it is 93 in New South Wales, Australia, at this moment, and they're the most infected territory in the country (300 something cases).

Humidity is the key to limiting infection, but not necessarily killing the virus.
