Serious Question: How are they testing to make sure you're not donating infected blood?

There is not a currently testing of donated blood for COVID19.
Also, covid19 is a coronavirus like MERS/SARS and the common cold which are not transmissible via transfusion.

I used to donate plasma and blood all the time when I was 18-21 until I had a bad experience. I said I would never do it again. I turn 50 next month. If I'm going to do this, I want it to do the most good as possible. Which do they need more blood, plasma, platelets? I'm A neg.
