It's a higher risk than just holing up in your home until the end of the world but it's not a giant risk imo. We have been ordering occasionally, trying to support small businesses.
Chili's is always a bad idea.
I eat out almost every meal but I live alone. All I have at the house is deer meat. I'll save that in case I need it.
I have eaten several times from several places. My wife is going to pick up food shortly and we are keeping our about 7-10 days food supply at house for now.
I may get sick, I think I am healthy enough to handle it and not going to infect others if I do get sick.

We've been getting take out. Most places are doing curbside.
I'd suggest supporting local mom and pop type places, rather than Chili's, but hey that's just me. Unlike Brinker, those places won't have the liquidity to survive this unless we support them.

Besides what's better than getting a taco and a beer in the drive through? Literally nothing.
I'll be watching this thread closely. As an seasoned citizen who doesn't cook too much, I'm interested in this.
We've only done it once. It's been nice cooking every meal. Saving a ton of money.
we've done it a couple times.... less of a risk than the grocery store i'm sure. But, chili's??

Hard to beat skillet queso and chicken crispers.

Got McDonalds with the Fam off Rock Prairie last night. With the community spread going on now, will probably be our last for a while.

IMO, what is the risk difference between touching things on shelves at the grocery stores that others have touched and bringing them home, or something coming from outside via takeout?

Have been using Favor, GrubHub, and DoorDash since this all started and no issues. I like still putting money into the economy and giving people work that want to work.
The apps will leave the food on your doorstep now too if you want.
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

We have on several occasions. Curbside or delivery. Wash hands before, remove from packaging and place on our own plates. Dispose of packaging, wash hands again and eat. Final step wash hands again... Probably overkill, but better safe than sorry. Still cook at home a lot more than normal...
Dedicated Unhesitating Service To Our Fighting Forces
Wanted a nice dinner m, had Perry's to go last night. Ate out for lunch 4 days this week like normal.
I trust Chick-Fil-A workers to act more appropriately with regards to hygiene than most fast food places, so I've gone there several times over the past week.
I am both cooking and ordering takeout/delivery...but only from local businesses. I refuse to support big chain restaurants during this time.
I'm also buying lots of beer from local breweries and liquor from local distilleries.
Also, still keeping my monthly membership at doggy daycare because they are being hit hard as well. Just trying to support everyone I usually do and adding on bigger tips when and where I can.

I have been going to small locally owned restaurants. My thinking is that large national chains have more money to ride this out than my friends in my town with one little restaurant. They gotta pay their workers and their workers gotta make money so they can eat.
All the time. Trying to help those in the service industry in whatever way we can.
Placed an order with Papa Johns to pickup later this afternoon. They offer delivery but I'd just as soon get out of the house.
I went out to support anthonies last night. They do a lot for this community and we will continue to support them. We have stuff and could stay home but wanted to help. Worth the risk.
We've been eating out every other day or so for one meal. Had to leave yesterday to buy a new shed for the house and stopped by Braum's for burgers and shakes for the family on the way home.
Had take out from my favorite Chinese place this week. Will do so again without hesitation.

Now we have to do take-out for hopefully just a few weeks. Hope all those guys are able to stay in business through this tough time.

I get wanting to support local over chain, but we shouldn't forget that those chain restaurants also employ plenty of local people that need money / tips much as those that work in local establishments.
Yeah, a lot of those chain restaurants are franchise-owned. Those people will be losing their jobs as well.
