So apparently LAST WEEKEND there was a curling bonspiel (tournament) in Edmonton for physicians, and of the 50 or so who attended, 20 have already tested positive for Covid. Many returned home after the weekend and treated several patients before showing symptoms.

Keep in mind that in Western Canada, there are many, many smaller towns that have only one health care provider, not unlike the Dakotas. There are already reports in some small towns that the only health care providers have tested positive, which means having to travel 60 or more miles for any kind of medical treatment.

Talk about the height of irresponsibility. And I thought the spring breakers were ignorant...

Yep. And beyond this, my sister works in a hospital in small town Saskatchewan and has more recent info.

She has her own story... was in the Dominican Republic Mar 4-11 for vacation, then returned to work. At that time the policy was anybody travelling internationally and returning after Mar 16 had to self-quarantine.

So she has worked 8 out of the past 10 days. Today they made the quarantine policy retroactive to Mar 6, so she was sent home mid-day to quarantine until Thursday. After seeing patients for 8 days.

Brilliant...

And earlier dentists held a big meeting in British Columbia. I guess they think they are immune somehow.
