There is little chance that the people of Wuhan will change their lifestyle and thus the breeding ground of COVID-19 will spike again next year. Will a vaccine help? Sure, but is there going to be any meaningful change in parts of the world where these Animal to Human viruses occur?

If they don't change then we better stop complete travel and commerce with China.

Just some thoughts on what will likely be better:

1) medical testing. We should have immediate nasal swabs by then, or at leat a lot closer
2) better diagnosis. Docs will likely be able to point out high risk individuals much better
3) better supply lines. Shortages on ppe, tp and hand sanitizer will not last forever
4) better immunity. A lot of people will have caught it and gotten over it.

China MUST BE held accountable in every way possible, and by all the world!

Hopefully we get through this in a couple months with a reprieve in the summer. During the summer we use that time to ramp up massive PPE, ventilator, and testing supplies for a fall outbreak. It would also be amazing to have a treatment that has been shown via clinical trials to be effective in helping lower the amount of severe cases.

Ideally this fall we can keep our economy running and quickly track and quarantine small outbreaks with mass testing (with hopefully quick and accurate results) and eliminate the need for more shutdowns.

This is hyperbolic. What would be nice is if China cracks down on exotic animal consumption. Might save the tiger and rhino and shark along the way.

Vaccines, prophylactics, treatment protocol, supplies of critical medical equipment , risk profiles and associated measures, general awareness, Better preparedness for this and future potential pandemics, etc. will all get better. Will they be the silver bullet... maybe not but they will all improve the outlook for the future.

Unfortunately a lot of good people will be lost first ... as it is and always will be.

In a few months most of us will have an immunity. A vaccine will take care of the rest of the population.

A virulent agent will burn itself out quickly. This is a problem that will solve itself very soon. What we're left with in the aftermath is dependent on whether or not we can recover from the monumental errors made so far.
