What actually changes? Is this like a thing when you were younger and your dad told you to stop but you kept doing it so he yelled and you got scared and stopped? Because that's what it sounds like.

This announcement will not change our family's behavior at all. We're sticking around the house except for picking up food / groceries etc.

Just read through the PDF linked in the KBTX article and under the laundry list of businesses listed as essential "scientific research" is in there. Guess that just moves it back to the University to decide. Reading the whole thing it seems like they just took everything they've been saying over the past two weeks and threw it into a scary looking mandate to get people to comply better.

I'm sure we'll hear from A&M admin soon

Pretty much. It's an order to get people to do what they already should have been doing.

It has big enough holes for Daylon Mack to run thru (Jimbo missed a chance for us to see greatness!), but it's scary sounding enough to get people's attention.

When I read through it, I had a hard time figuring out what WASN'T covered in essential businesses. Other than maybe retail clothing stores (sorry Aggieland Outfitters.)

Correct, mainly retail clothing stores, which were mostly already closed to begin with.
