I know this because the HOA management company posted that on our NABR network. No other information... just that there was a positive case. Why would they tell us that? No street, no section... just, hey guys, we've got a case. All neighborhood facilities have been closed for at least a week.

Its probably a privacy issue because of HIPPA laws.

So you will shelter in place.. every HOA should do this
How did they even know? Did a busybody neighbor tell them or did the infected person let them know just so all could take extra care? It just seems like completely useless information.
Assuming the person is taking the proper precautions (self-quarantine, etc.), they should be able to do so anonymously. Good on the HOA.RCR06 said:

It is 100% a privacy issue. I don't see the need to share it, at all. One of the 1,093 homes in your subdivision has a person in it with Covid-18. No, we won't tell you what section.
Did anybody else know you could use superscripts in your handle?

I'm special. My handle didn't originally include superscripts. However, in the heyday of the general board, several other posters created counterfeit accounts by adding a space between and/or after each of the words in my handle. It was all fun and games... but that resulted in staff adding the superscript to my name, at my request.

Basically. Although I do let me kids play with the kids across the street whose family is otherwise on "level 5 lock down". They go absolutely no where. No visitors. Just my kids. It's a single mom and her two kids.

Nowhere does only one person have it. If someone in your neighborhood has it, your neighborhood has it. You should assume it is on any public surface you touch. Including your mail.

Seriously, a lot of people who go for treatment over the next 4-6 weeks will be sent home or offered morphine. That's the best they'll be able to do. If you catch it, the 8-12 week window is much more favorable for treatment.

Got a message pointing to a specific neighborhood with a positive case. Told the wife completely inappropriate and to not spread the word.
I can sometimes be an antagonist. But calling out hoods is way over the line on this. It may not be a HIPAA violation, but it can get dangerous,
Agree with above, just pretend everyone has it. Act accordingly based on your willingness to get infected. I wiped my mail with Clorox. Was freaked out when it removed a check from a customer. Just filled it back in and rewrote it.

You are making some statements in this post that I'm quite positive you can't scientifically back up.

HIPAA does not apply to homeowners associations.

Really, I wasn't aware from the three other people that said the same thing.
Had to deal with them a lot at a former employer and after awhile it feels like everyone has to follow them, but I know this is not the case.
