I found this site fascinating. They took cell phone GPS data to determine how much people have stopped moving around and then assigned scores to each state and county.

It looks like across the country, no one really started to distance themselves until March 13, and they didn't really start taking it seriously until probably about March 20. So we probably have another week before we start seeing any benefit from social distancing.

So basically - Wyoming is like, WGAS.

Somewhat misleading. Rural areas can move around a whole lot while still practicing social distancing.

I'm driving 200+ miles today and have been around 6 people... 4 of them weren't even within 30 feet of me. Of the other 2, one was in a vehicle and the final was wearing surgical gloves, is a known (to me) "clean freak", and we still kept our distance. West Texas

I'm sitting in the middle of 500 acres. This isn't that hard.

This. I drove 150 miles and checked 3000 acres of wheat yesterday. Never saw a human.

My county gets an F. But their model doesn't take into account most of those phones are in boats on the water.

Fact check - false

Checking in from Park County Wyoming. We have one confirmed case and no lines in the grocery stores.

You better believe my family is. Our hospital in Juneau only has 9 ventilators serving all of SE Alaska and our air medivac city Seattle is overloaded. We're boned if it breaks here.

It's just that people in rural Wyoming had to drive really far to the nearest Costco to buy extra toilet paper.

The Texas data fits. Big spike the week most schools had spring break. Huge trend downward since then. Tarrant county is showing a big drop. That is where I live. Remember that the Governor has said there will be a lag between social distancing happening and cases levelling off.

Lots of people outside... including a lady that setup a lawn chair right next to the trails... So if she's asymptomatic, she's now exposed no less than 500 people today.

And you know what? I really can't get mad at her, as far as she has probably heard if she's not sick then she's not a carrier.

All I see is the infection rate climbing with the reduced movement. Let's see if it works the opposite way.

That would be wrong my parents live in the country and if they are moving around they are going to Walmart or tractor supply or getting a newspaper or taking lunch to a friend. They are running fewer errands then they were 2 weeks ago but they are still running more errands than recommended

What I said is not wrong. Your parents aren't representative of very rural citizen. People in rural counties can move around a lot without coming into contact with other people. Grading counties on cell phone movement isn't exactly accurate.

We can agree to disagree most people if they are moving around they are increasing their social interaction. The guy driving 100 miles to check on a crop is the exception

LA county gets an 'A' and Wyoming gets an 'F'

Cant figure out what I'm supposed to take away from this dashboard.

Plus it's painfully slow.

Click on state and then counties. The grade is based on not net use but whether distance is declining. So LA can get an A cause more people are staying home. With the incumbation period it will be another week at least to see a flattening of the growth.

It makes sense that Wyoming would not get a high grade. It's not really as necessary to socially distance themselves since there is a natural distance built in for many.

Yeah, to Denver. There's no Costco in Wyoming. There is a Sam's in Cheyenne though!
