I helped someone from work get on a Zoom baby shower yesterday...

We'd be considered youngster's in the typical Presbyterian Church so technology isn't something that most are comfortable with in our congregations. But the church we spoke at this morning is in Blue Ridge, GA which is a retirement community in North GA - most are pretty well educated. The church has technology deacons to help.

Another church that supports us had a parking lot worship this morning - the pastor stood on a covered porch and everyone sat in their cars in the parking lot, tuned to an FM radio channel.

It's really interesting seeing the different ideas for staying connected through worship.

I know a couple that were having a destination wedding in a couple of months, recently postponed until same time next year. I'm like, WTF? Just do it. Go ahead with a local wedding or Zoom, and then invite all your friends to the big anniversary party next year.

I've found using the Zoom chat during a Zoom video helps cut through the noise. Also muting your microphone and using the space bar to talk helps. I'm a big fan of Zoom. Much better than WebEx. Hope your experience gets better.

Our softball team had a Zoom happy hour. The season was supposed to start today.

Zoom is headquartered in downtown San Jose - really making some noise for the low cost/free cost meeting. I prefer Microsoft Teams when it's paid for - but free Zoom is getting everyone talking. One of the few companies whose stock is going up.

Yes. And, honestly, it's just not for me. I just don't like the "feel" of it.

It was WebEx though which sucks balls.

We use WebEx and wife uses teams. Teams is light-years ahead of WebEx.

They need to revamp the virtual HH to where you are in a main room but can have sidebar conversations 1x1 or small 3-4 person groups. Like real HH.

We used Zoom for our weekly Friday am Bible study. It was great to see everybody's faces but not nearly as much fun and fellowship as when we meet in the flesh. I am ready for this to be over but fear that is very wishful thinking.

And man I miss church. Online church is just not the same. And living in the sticks it is very hit and miss as far as reception,

Don't know if you are familiar with the Presbyterian theologian, Frederick Buechner, but he's pretty well known.

I use a computer with no camera or microphone. It's just a conference call, y'all.

I use Teams regularly for work but the local brewery is hosting a trivia night tonight using Zoom. Hopefully it goes smoothly.
