If you bring home food from a restaurant, for it to be safe do you need to heat it to a temp that would kill any kind of germ, or is a few seconds in the microwave good? Brought home bar-b-q with potato salad today. Did I need to nuke it?

Raw foods are addressed @ 4:50 in the video. Transmission through food in general is highly unlikely and there have been no reports of such transmission.
