How accurate have the tests been in South Korea, China, and elsewhere?

With the reports of inaccurate or ineffective test rates for tests provided by China to other countries in the past months, has there been any somewhat authoritative report that addresses this and whether the new tests in the USA are better?

US <-> S. Korea would be a good comparison, even if just to analyze effectiveness.

US <-> China <-> S. Korea ? I wouldn't trust China's numbers for anything. They lie like the vinyl flooring you have in your Utility Rm...maybe even below it.

I read the update notes on J H site and China recently updated their death count by (-100) because they "double counted".

Yep, that explains it...

I saw a joke yesterday that showed some Chinese doctors entering a chained up apartment building where everyone inside the units was dead. One of the doctors was taking notes and the caption said 'Cause of death-starvation'

That's about how much I trust China.
I don’t say this in a braggedocious way. But it’s true. I’ve been right about everything.

Chinese statistics are useless, and from what I've read so are South Korean and many others (including Czechs who got kits from China). There's an enormous amount of vagary out there about sensitivity/specificity for tests used globally.

It's not going to get fixed until we have a lot more data from both antibody tests and viral loads from the US. Many countries (mostly not in the EU but a lot of standards were suspended there during this pandemic) just don't have testing regimens that compare to our standards (which necessarily make testing slower here).
