Will strain mutation effect treatment protocols materially?

According to this site, we are dealing with multiple strains of this... if true, how much does it effect the treatment plans?

Is this also the reason some treatments maybe more effective in some regions vs others? (Or higher death rates)

I listened to a conference call with some Regeneron and Roche folks for work. This question was asked and they indicated quite strongly that it would not be an issue . . . .they did not get into the science of it as it was not a medical audience but they were pretty clear on the matter.

The issue with this virus is not really it's replication, it is secondary effects, e.g. secretion of orf 1ab, orf 8 and others, and the effect of those proteins on porphyrins (hemoglobin) outside of infected cells. It's unlikely mutations will make those issues worse...loss of function mutations are far far far more common than gain of function mutations.
