How are we going to reopen the economy while hospital workers don't have PPE?

Getting PPE should be of the very highest priority. I recognize we need to get the economy going as soon as possible to the extent we can relatively safely, but doing so w/o PPE for our hospital workers will be a death sentence for many.

I hope so. Our inpatient covid unit is running low on supplies. We are already reusing masks. Running out of gowns. We don't have enough PAPRs.

I'm of the opinion that once we have PPE and the ability to test everyone showing symptoms, the economy should slowly start to reopen starting with offices and other "non-essential" retail shops (so long as some social distancing measures are in place).

I don't see large crowds being able to gather until we have some sort of meaningful outpatient treatment to keep people out of the hospital. Once we have that, it's game on.

This. Eventually production/distribution is going to catch up and then we are going to have a **** ton. Especially once we are on the downslope of some of these peaks.

It's a little bit spitting hairs, because both are highly important, but I think mass testing and the antibody test is slightly more important to get the economy going again. Obviously mass amounts of PPEs will be needed to.

actually if we had enough protective equipment for heath care and first responders, then we could next get if for other things.

I am an elderly teacher and I so miss my students, But I would not feel safe in the classroom unless everyone is wearing a mask and the teacher masks were at surgical quality since we have to be in close physical contact because that is how we are evaluated. We are circulating constantly and stopping at desks and helping individual students. The day of the lecture is LONG gone. Look at the arlicles about this high number of fatalites among educators in New York. But look at the sheer number of masks you would need for every school child and teacher in the state, every college student and prof...and quickly you see that mask production has to be a high priority when we return to normal.
