I really appreciate all that the doctors who post on here do for their patients and our country. That being said, there is a financial crisis coming that the government cannot prevent with a national shelter in place policy. If you think the country can sustain the status quo for another two months that is the topic for another conversation.

No matter what the CDC says, there is a difference between a stated policy and a belief. Additionally, all of this is moot if IL-6 inhibitors and Chloroquine/Zirthomax turn out to be 99.999% effective. I have four activities that I am curious to know what everyone's participation requirements are:
1) Working at your normal office or place of business
2) Sending your kids to school
3) Traveling for vacation to a normal tourist destination
4) Attending an Aggie Football game

For example, my answers are
1) Office mask and hand sanitation policy
2) School mask policy, social distancing at Lunch, thermometer scans at the beginning of the day
3) Hotel cleaning staff mask requirement, daily sheet and disinfectant policy
4) Game mask policy, concession ban

I'd go to work, on vacation, or to a sporting event tomorrow with no special provisions. I don't have kids.

Simply, all three in my household are in the high risk group.

We have to protect ourselves until we get vaccinated with a vaccine that has been proven to be very effective.

Same No joke, but my faith has kept me feeling plenty safe. Doesn't mean I'll go doing something stupid. But I generally follow the basic hygienic standards and voila.

I would do 1-3 tomorrow. I wouldn't be fully comfortable in a large gathering. Maybe masks? But I likely wouldn't go.

Everything else let's do it. I'll wash my hands, strip in the doorway, and shower when I come home.

I am a believer that CV19 is a major issue. I have four children and my dad has zero chance against it (he was tested twice during a two week hospital stay in early March ... both negative luckily.)

I would go back to life as normal today with zero thoughts about it.

same here. In fact, I'm still going to the office everyday, just washing my hands more and maintaining space from people. small office though, only like 25 people total so not difficult to avoid someone.

Just give kids N95 masks and have them wear a Cone of Shame to keep them from touching their face. Back to school. Problem solved.

Better delivery options. Hubby and I are high risk, especially hubby. I just can't easily get groceries with pick up or delivery.

I was ok with the shutdown initially to get things in place and buy us time, but things got to get opened up.

We are trying to move to our retirement home. We are trying to downsize and move out of California.

I've switched from worrying about our health to our finances. It seems there are ways to avoid getting infected, and now there are some treatments.

1). I haven't missed a day of work, comfortable with our social distancing measures I am overly concerned for my employees so I have not been around anyone besides my wife to ensure I do not take Covid to work.
2). No kids, my opinion is invalid
3). I will will go to the lake and a foreign beach this summer and snow ski 2-3 times next winter unless the mountain is closed. My wife and I are not high risk.
4). Legitimate National championship contending squad, I have spent excessive money 2012 - 2018 to travel and support the team. I took 2019 off well before I ever heard of Covid-19. If we have a football season then I would not be afraid to attend a game. If we continue to underperform, I will avoid games with or without Covid-19

I have decided that I will enjoy life. A 1% mortality rate across the spectrum of known cases, and a fraction of 1% mortality rate for healthy people does not bother me. I would not travel and then go visit my parents without a 10 day self quarantine with current conditions. I also would not travel and then put our employees at risk by returning to "normal duty" without some precautions.

Thank you all for your responses. We have had only a few people with responses that are not comfortable with current options. I know from all the other threads that there are a significant number out there. I would really like to hear from those people as well.

1) Working at your normal office or place of business
My office is easy to socially distance. Wearing a mask would be helpful. One of the last days before i was told to work from home I had a coworker come up to me and shake my hand and cough on me without covering his mouth. I immediately went to go wash my hands, but it just goes to show why wearing a mask would have been helpful.

2) Sending your kids to school..
I'm not really worried about my kids, the decision to reopen schools probably has more to do with the safety of the teachers and administrators who are at risk. I do find it interesting that Japan was mostly able to keep businesses open and had low growth of cases, but they did close schools. Now that they are trying to reopen schools, they are having a delayed increase in cases. Have to wonder if kids are a growth vector because they can spread the virus without ever having symptoms.

3) Traveling for vacation to a normal tourist destination
I'd go somewhere where I felt like I could safely socially distance. I had to cancel a trip to a Mexican beach resort for Spring Break. The anxiety was less about the destination and more about the travel in the airport, plane, etc. Although, seeing a fair bit of outbreaks on cruise ships and people coming back from resort destinations has made me feel good about cancelling.

4) Attending an Aggie Football game
I wouldn't go until we had the disease pretty firmly in control. Everybody yelling their spit into the air in unison seems like a super spreader event bound to happen.

My concern in general is less about myself and more so about getting infected and passing it to my parents who are much more high risk.

Nothing will change for me, I already wash my hands regularly, I practice social distancing as a general safety precaution, I will not wear a mask.

I will still attend weddings, funerals and football games. I will still go to bars and restaurants and I will still shake hands.

I will add an emergency stash of hand cleaner, sanitizing wipes, ppe and toilet paper.

1) Mask usage, and lack of face to face meetings. Also they need to clean the bathrooms more, and fill the soaps more. More than they anticipate.

2) TBH I'd be find sending kids to school today. The risk is low, but I understand they would become a vector. This is the toughest question to solve. I have no good ideas here or even thought of what a world where work happens and school doesn't looks like.

3) Traveling for vacation to a normal tourist destination - Well, first they would have to let me book a ticket. lol. I would not want to travel out of the country without a vax. Paying for care overseas can be backbreaking.

4) I'll risk my life if we can get a QB that doesn't make me start licking doorknobs in Wuhan.

I disagree with number 3. As reported by the CDC, be there have only been 3 child deaths recorded during this outbreak in the US. Children need to catch this to help build up herd immunity. This is relatively low risk.

This. An abundance of readily available and cheap tests along with medical capacity. I don't see any large scale reopening until these two criteria are met.

I'm leery of any reopening of large crowd events for the foreseeable future until a proven treatment is available or a vaccine is available.
