Original article was in the WaPo; you can access this for free. Post Mortems seem to be showing evidence of unusual clotting in some patients. This is the opposite of what happens in hemorrhagic cases. I was wondering if any docs or medical researchers were aware of this?

This isn't all that new. It has definitely been seen with COVID-19 patients. Most centers are now anticoagulating inpatients based on their severity of symptoms, taking into consideration any comorbidities and relevant contraindications. It is indeed a bizarre virus. In severe patients, it attacks the lungs, sometimes attacks the heart, binds to ACE-2 everywhere, causes cytokine storm, possibly interferes with hemoglobin O2 binding, causes coagulopathy. And yet, in many people, it does absolutely nothing at all.
Edit for recent reference:
Could tiny blood clots make COVID-19 more lethal?

It is almost as if the virus is engineered to exploit physical weaknesses. But I will take that to another board.

For the biologist and doctors out there, does the clotting give any credibility to Dr. Cameron Kyle-Sidell's comments that this is more like high altitude sickness, or is it still too far of a leap?

I am a healthy physically fit 39 y/o male but have naturally thick blood - high hematocrit/hemoglobin/RBC. Guess I should prob go donate some blood (if you can even do that right now).
