Seem to be absolutely awesome.

Only 26509 new cases and 1157 new deaths, lowest deaths since late March.

Is there limited data or are we actually killing this thing?

Yeah. I used top get excited every Sunday only to see the numbers increase every Monday and Tuesday.

I am beginning to think the number of daily new cases isn't really a measure of the spread of the disease, just a measure of how many tests we are performing. New cases plateaued a for about two weeks before they started rising again. Daily tests also plateaued a few weeks ago but started going up again last week.

That combined with some of the antibody testing results that are starting to come out make me think the actual number of daily cases is much higher and we simply find a certain percentage of them with testing. More tests = more cases.

67% and 73%, but close I guess. Sunday has historically produced much lower than average reporting and the accompanying threads and "we did it!" tweets.

Not sure those 1157 who died would think it's awesome.

Hopefully though, this is more than just a regular Sunday lull, as the Friday and Saturday numbers were a bit on the bleak side.

Fingers crossed.

That what's I'm hoping as well. I'm also hoping the death numbers are going down because they learned a few things in treating the more seriously ill as well (such as backing off on the use of ventilators, etc.).

the numbers are better which would be expected from the SIP's. I think the Drs are having better outcomes as they become more familiar with the disease progression. NYC is improving and the numbers out of nyc were driving the US numbers.
