I am going to head to Balmorhea with a buddy of mine this weekend, do we have to wear a mask while there or did the new update remove thar requirement?

You are going to be disappointed. Balmorhea has been closed for a long time. Likely won't reopen until late summer at the earliest. The closure has nothing to do with covid.
