Just an FYI for the board. The Drivers License Services are available again for more things than just CDL

https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/appointments.htm

Applying for an original Texas driver license (DL) or identification card (ID)
Applying for a Texas learner license
Driver license services requiring a skills exam, and
Applying for a commercial driver license (CDL) or taking a CDL skills exam

Not everything, but I just needed to get my daughter in there for her learner's permit. In the RR area, appointments are 4-6 weeks out right now.

I've been driving on an expired license since the week after the lockdown. Just happens to be a full renewal this time around. Still can't renew mine yet. Feeling a little wild and crazy driving around without a license, woo-hoo!

I believe it was supposed to go into effect this fall but got pushed back because of the COVID stuff

I'm 95% certain this is correct.

I'm not sure if people genuinely believe someone is going to say, "Wow, if some people say I'm a moron for not believing this, it clearly must be true."

It's not much a persuasive argument. It really just sounds like a bunch of miniature dachshunds barking because the first one one barked when it thought it heard something.
