Definitely don't want to see any tick up, but it will happen. Texas has had tremendously low hospitalizations and deaths and this will probably have some small increases. I don't know about the whole state, but if Brazos County is any indication another outbreak at nursing home Parc at Traditions led to at least 34 residents catching the disease and is the vast majority of the increase of 11 hospitalizations.

I'm not sure I see the bad here.

We always said we were going to test more. That included all nursing homes and prisons, beyond just the community. What's the problem with more testing?

Hospitalizations have stayed relatively flat for well over a month. We're back down to 1,427 as of today.

In the end, we're not going down, but I really didn't expect us to. We never had a huge spike like NY. We've stayed pretty flat for several weeks, and I don't think that's a bad thing.

I thought someone mentioned a week or so ago that Texas was going to see a huge spike due to how cases were counted PLUS the increased testing.
Please tell me there's a special place in Heaven for Aggie fans! It's like we are living some sort of penance on Earth.

Not terrible.

Fitch put together this chart showing testing positive rate.

I'm in Virginia and we have the same number of hospitalizations as Texas with one third of the population. And we just moved to Phase 2 because that was a big improvement over the peak in April.

I could only blue star PJ 2 posts up once. But he's correct. The rate of positive tests is a good indicator of where we are headed.

The only thing that matters is hospital capacity. This was all about flattening the curve.

Down here in Hidalgo County we were at 33 Covid hospitalizations on April 14th, 12 on May 21st and now we are at 31. Not the trend I wanted to see.
